The Indigenous Marathon Foundation is a health promotion charity (DGR1 status) which uses sport as a platform to help Indigenous Australians achieve their full potential as healthy human beings, while creating a ripple effect of change in communities through education and leadership.
At IMF, they’re addressing at least eight of the 17 Closing the Gap targets: frequent exercise and other healthy behaviours are critical to bridging the gap in life expectancy and healthy life between Indigenous and other Australians
The Indigenous Marathon Foundation Limited
The Indigenous Marathon Foundation was established in 2013 by World Marathon Champion and 1983 Australian of the Year, Robert de Castella. The outcomes of the programs delivered by the Foundation impacts positively on Indigenous communities Australia-wide and create community role models and local champions who influence change and promote active and healthy lifestyles for others.100% of all funds raised go directly into the delivery of the Foundation's core programs.
